69D8- Non Dwelling Structure Fire - Pole Barn Fire

On June 22nd at 09:32 Hrs the Delaware City and Christiana Fire Companies were alert for a shed fire in the 1900 blk of Mccoy road. New Castle County EMS staff advised the 911 center that this was a working alarm involving a 40'x60' pole barn with fire showing. The assignment was upgraded to a level 3 box alarm. Rescue Engine 296 was added on the box along with Odessa, Wilmington Manor, Middletown and Good Will Fire Companies. The crews arrived to find a large pole barn well off. RE 296 was assigned to layout from Engine 12 to a hydrant @ 600' away. The remainder of the crew then assisted with suppression and overhaul until released by command.
