New Marine Rescue Unit - Port Penn

On, November 24th 2008, the Port Penn Vol. Fire Co. Station 29 in Port Penn, DE placed into service a new Marine Rescue Unit and will be known as MRU 29. The unit is a 2009 International 7400 4X4 four door cab with a 14 foot 4 Guys stainless steel body. It has a International diesel motor 330 HP with a Allison 3000 EVS 5 speed transmission. Truck is equipped with a 6 KW Harrison hydraulic generator, which powers a Wil-Burt 6 foot light tower, two 750 watt tri-pod lights, one 150 foot electrical cord reel. The body of the truck has ROM roll up doors for each compartment. The truck is also equipped with a Warn 9000# portable winch, which has connection ports on each side of the truck. The is also equiped with all ice and water rescue equipment. MRU 29 is also equipped with a gas powered hurst pump and a combination tool. MRU 29 is also set up to pull the company's 27 foot Boston Whaler and the 12 foot Zodiac. The truck is going to run on all water rescues and will also be responding with the New Castle County Surface Water Team. The truck was built to meet all 2009 NFPA requirments. There was alot of hours put into the planning and building of the truck by the committee. The fire company would like to thank committee Chairman Brian Dunkelberger and all the committee members that put in long hours getting the truck done.
