Caution For All Driver's - Port Penn
Tuesday, October 13, 2015
For many years now, route 9 north of the town of Port Penn has high water on the southbound side of the road. However with all of the recent rain we have had now the water goes across the whole road even at low tide. If anyone is not from the area and is unfamiliar with the road, the concern is there will a bad a traffic collision. The road that is under water sits right at a blind corner as shown in the pictures provided. The southbound traffic if tall enough to go through has to move into the on-coming traffic lane and is unable to see if there is any traffic coming at them until they are most of the way through the water at which time it might be too late. We urge all driver's traveling in the area to becareful and if you do go through it take your time and be aware of on-coming traffic.
