*L3 Commercial Structure Fire - Friendly's Dove Run Center

At 15:31 hours Engine 29 was alerted to assist Stations 1/27 (Middletown) on a working Building Fire at the Friendly's Restaurant in Middletown. Engine 29 made a quick response with a crew of 4 under the command of Career FF/EMT Williams. While making the response the plume of smoke was visible from Port Penn Road. Engine 29 was the third unit arriving on scene and advised by Command 27-8C (Schusteritsch) to report to the C Side. The Crew was directed to secure a water supply from Engine 27-5 and place a master stream in service, the crews under the command of 298B then forced entry to the rear and placed two handlines in service. The crew of Engine 29 was then joined with the crew from Engine 45 (Clayton) and was assigned to open up the roof on the C Side, and to make access to the remaining cockloft area to inspect for any further fire extension and extinguished same. Engine 29 operated on scene for approximately 2.5 hours. As a side note due to two working incidents going on south of the canal Tanker 29 under the command of Deputy Newman covered station 4 by combining crews from Port Penn and Odessa at station 4 along with the cover up crew from Good Will Fire Company (E182). Units From: Vol. Hose, Odessa, Port Penn, Delaware City, Clayton, Aetna, NCCEMS, Town Of Middletown, Chesapeake Utilities, MPD, DSP operated on scene Command: 27-8C (Schusteritsch)
