Engine Assist on Working House Fire on Cass Street in Middletown

At 14:15 Hrs on October 10th, 2013 the Station was alerted for an Engine to assist Station 27 (Middletown) on a Working House Fire. Tower 27 responded on dispatch and arrived to find a structure with heavy fire in the rear, with extension into the walls and the attic.  Engine 296 under command of Chief Speakman was assigned to the Charlie division. The Crew of Engine 296 ran a 300’ Attack Line to the Charlie side and assisted with suppression. Upon knocking hot spots the crew then advanced there line to Division 2 and assisted with suppression of the Fire which had extended due to the balloon frame construction. The company operated on scene for an extended period of time. The Primary and secondary searches were all negative.
