On August 23rd at 23:41 Hrs a water rescue box was dispatched for an medical emergency on a boat that was being towed in the Delaware River South of the C&D Canal. The assignment consisted of rescue boats 15,18,29 and DCFC BLS. 29 Marine 1 arrived on location and a (2) person team made access to the patient. The entry crew completed a patient assessment, treated the injury and then transferred the patient to 29 Marine 1. The remaining marine rescue assets stood by in the event addition resources were needed. The patient was taken to the Delaware City Marina dock where a Delaware City Fire Company BLS unit took over care an transported the patient to CER. After speaking with the crew of the vessel being towed and the USCG it was determined that the injury occurred as a result of a large wake striking the vessel as it was being towed. The vessel suffered moderate damage however the tow boat crew was able to continue on to a marina in Pennsylvania.
