At 0745 hrs. units from Delaware City, Port Penn, Christiana, New Castle, Wilmington Manor, and Odessa Fire Companies were dispatched to the 1900 block of McCoy Road for smoke in the basement. Engine 6 upon arrival stated they had a smoke condition, and upon further investigation a basement fire extending to the 1st floor. Units operated on scene quickly suppressing fire, conducting searches, and performing overhaul functions for approximately 1.5 hours.
